1646

The hague (nl)   2013

In this solo exhibition 1646 is filled with debris and traces of a whirlwind that Bonno van Doorn left behind. Some materials that occupy the room seem to have ended up here by accident, or appear to have casually come into existence as some sort of by-product. Others look like attempts at an object with a proper identity but that were never quite realised. In the end everything escapes identification. Each item is a fragment, provisional, pointing elsewhere. Walking around this environment one encounters the constant surprise of a failed recognition.
